We’re thrilled to announce our new Mici CEO, Elliot Schiffer! In his own words, “I went to business school to take a business to the national level,” and he’s taken the first big step to doing so by joining the Mici family.
Here are 5 interesting things to know about our new CEO.
1. HE’S A LONG-TIME MICI CUSTOMER
Since moving to Denver with his wife and kids in 2012, Elliot became a regular patron at Mici’s since-relocated Cherry Creek North store, often bringing home meals for his family after a long day’s work.
2. HE GOT HIS MBA AT NORTHWESTERN’S KELLOGG SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
Elliot got a world-class education at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management where he studied Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Finance.
3. HE’S PASSIONATE ABOUT QUALITY
When asked about what drew him to the Mici CEO position, Elliot said: “Mici has identified a latent demand for the higher quality pizza and pasta in an industry flooded with low quality product. They make craveable food that you can feel good about—the hallmark of a successful fast casual restaurant brand.” Elliot’s favorite Mici items are the Caprarola Pizza and Lasagna.
4. HE WAS MENTORED BY RICHARD MELMAN
While living in Chicago, Elliot worked closely with renowned restaurateur, Richard Melman of Lettuce Entertain You (LEYE). Under his tutelage, Elliot helped develop the M Burger concept and managed Papagus Greek Taverna, Osteria via Stato and Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. Richard’s mentorship helped Elliot in his choice to pursue Mici: “I have been selective in the opportunities I pursued, and essentially have been waiting for Mici—and the Miceli Family—to come along. Company culture and integrity are hugely important to me, a tenant I learned from my mentor Richard Melman.”
5. HE ALREADY HAS THE FAMILY HAIRCUT
We’ll let the picture speak for itself.
Welcome to the Mici family, Elliot! We’re excited to have you with us as our Mici CEO and can’t wait to see how we grow together.
