Things to Look for in a Family Restaurant

In Italian culture, dining and family go hand-in-hand. From cooking to clean-up, families spend the evening sitting around the table and enjoying dinner together. In today’s fast-paced society, it can be difficult to find the time for everyone to get together and sit still long enough to prepare and eat a full meal.

That’s why it’s sometimes easier to find a place where the entire family can sit down, relax and enjoy each other’s company. To help you find the perfect dinner spot, we’ve put together three things to look for in a family restaurant.

  1. Wholesome Food and Fresh Ingredients

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that good food tastes even better when it’s made with healthy, fresh ingredients. A family restaurant makes a point to sift through additives and preservatives and find the most wholesome ingredients for their dishes.

That’s why at Mici we avoid ingredients with added nitrates, fillers, hormones and preservatives. Each of our handcrafted Italian dishes is made with family in mind. Our dedication to wholesome ingredients lies in our Italian roots, and we’re grateful to have been chosen as the 5280 Top of the Town Reader’s Choice “Best Italian” and “Best Pizza” in 2016. Check out our latest Cooking with Mici video and meet our cousin, Lisa, who makes homemade pasta for us during her visit to America.

  1. Putting Family First

One of the most important aspects of Italian culture is surrounding yourself with those you love. As a family restaurant, we try to put family first in everything we do. When you’re eating at Mici, you’re not just a customer, which is why we created our Family Table Loyalty Program to say thanks for being part of our family and allowing us to be part of yours.

Our recipes are handed down from several generations, and we’re honored to serve them to you each day. Whether you’re sitting down at one of our four locations or gathered around the dinner table with Mici at home, our goal is to bring your family together for fun, fresh, wholesome, delicious food.

  1. Welcoming All Ages

A restaurant isn’t a family restaurant unless it opens its door to food-lovers of all ages. At Mici, we strive to live up to our title as 5280 Reader’s Choice Top Kid-Friendly restaurant. With a specialized kid’s menu and dough for the kiddos to play with while their food is cooking, we want both kids and parents to love Mici. (Don’t worry, Mom and Dad, we’ve got a wine and beer menu for you.)

In addition, a family restaurant not only welcomes kids, but educates them. At Mici, there’s nothing we enjoy more than sharing our love for food, family, culture and wholesome ingredients. We love being involved with our communities and supporting our local schools. During the last week of April, we welcomed 120 students from Bill Roberts Elementary to a behind-the-scenes field trip at the Mici Stapleton location. Mici proudly supports the schools’ curriculum and incorporates lessons in community, jobs, health and nutrition while dishing out tons of fun!

So the next time you’re looking for the perfect family restaurant to gather around the table for dinner, join us around the Mici table! And check out the photos from our Bill Roberts field trip:
